Book Review! A Must Read!

My Heart and Other Black HolesMy Heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really like this book. I would recommend this to anyone, but especially teens suffering from depression or who may be facing tough times & need a glimmer of hope. The author , in my opinion, does a good job conveying the emotional upheaval associated with depression and guilt. I also liked that the characters weren't necessarily "cured" of their affliction because that would be unrealistic. Very good and fast read.

Teen Book Review Thursday!

by Richard - Grade 9
iBoy by Kevin Brooks
Genre: suspense, sci-fi

Richard gives this book:

Summary: A teenager named Tom gets an iPhone thrown at his head and pieces of the phone get into his brain allowing him to access people's technology and shock.  He uses his newfound abilities to seek revenge on those that attacked him and his friend Lucy.

Why I would recommend this book (or not): I would recommend this book because the whole book is very suspenseful and it doesn't drag on in the beginning.

Where She Went by Gayle Foreman

Where She Went (If I Stay, #2)Where She Went by Gayle Forman

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I liked If I Stay, but I absolutely loved Where She Went. It is unusual for me to like a sequel better than the first, but it happened with this book which captivated me until the very end.

❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

This is the conclusion to Mia and Adam’s story and told from Adam's point of view. The story picks up three years after Mia wakes from a coma where she had been deciding whether to stay or let herself die.

This is a truly poignant and moving story about love lost and found. It makes you both want to read furiously to the end AND savor each and every line written.

I loved the lyrics of songs interspersed throughout the story. They lent themselves to the telling of the story in a unique way and added another dimension to the telling.

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed If I stay. You are guaranteed to love this one even more!! This romance is absolutely wonderful and magical.

Glamping with Mary Jane: Glamour + CampingGlamping with Mary Jane: Glamour + Camping by MaryJane Butters

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a treat. The author has great camping and "glamping" guides. I have recently bought a vintage 1976 Layton Skyline camper and can't wait to glamp in style!!! Perfect for those who love the outdoors but still want to enjoy the comforts of home. This book is full of humor, tips and a ton of sass!!!

Teen Book Review Thursday!

by Kaicie - Grade 9

What My Girlfriend Doesn't Know by Sonya Sones

Kaicie gives this book

Summary: Robin Murphy is the kid in school everyone makes fun of especially because of his last name.  One girl though catches his eye and he catches hers.  They start to date but soon the relationship is put to the test all because of his skills in art class.  Deception, romance, break-ups, make-ups, make outs, fun and suspense.  Who could ask for more in a book????  Want to find out what happens?  Find a copy and read it!
Why I would recommend this book:  I would definitely recommend this book because for girls it's what goes on in everyone's head during a relationship and also for boys because it is a guide of what NOT to do and how to fix it if you do.  This book contains so many life lessons.
