'Read the Book First' Friday

With the recent sucess of books turned into movies such as The Harry Potter Series, Hunger Games, and Twilight, to name a few, more and more movie studios are buying the movie rights to YA books like crazy!!  This is nothing but great news for me and others like me who love to see a movie that was once a beloved book and compare the two.  Unfortunately, when I started to look up what adaptations we could start getting excited about, I was shocked that there was no one place to get the inside scoop. So I spent some time researching this just for you! And here’s what I've come up with: Young Adult books we love, that all have adaptations in the works.

With that being said, it's important to remember that even though the rights to these books have been purchased by movie studios, that doesn't mean that they will instantly become movies, if at all. Things happen! Sometimes this process takes time, even years...  Nonetheless, the following list, at the very least, is a great list of books that I highly recommend adding to your "to be read" list.

The Book: A Discover of Witches: All Souls Trilogy
Witch and Yale historian Diana Bishop discovers an enchanted manuscript, attracting the attention of 1,500-year-old vampire Matthew Clairmont. The orphaned daughter of two powerful witches, Bishop prefers intellect, but relies on magic when her discovery of a palimpsest documenting the origin of supernatural species releases an assortment of undead who threaten, stalk, and harass her. Book: The Alchemyst: The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel
